Thank you for signing up to my newsletter!

Here's what to expect

Hey there!

Let me say a hearty thank you for deciding to subscribe to my newsletter.

One thing I love about newsletters is that they are more intentional than other platforms. When someone subscribes, it tells me that they intentionally want to read my thoughts.

So here's a heartfelt thank you!

You may already have a lot of emails in your inbox, so I'm grateful you are letting me be part of it. I promise not to flood it, but know that you can also bail anytime you feel like my emails are no longer making sense or relevant to you! (There's an unsubscribe button at the bottom of every email.)

Heads-up: I'm planning to send you an email about freelancing every other Friday (US Eastern Daylight Time).

I thought long and hard about creating a newsletter, but I decided to share my freelancing journey in hopes of helping fellow freelance writers and anyone thinking of starting a freelance side gig.

Actually, can you let me know whether you're:

  • New to freelancing

  • Been freelancing for a while

  • Thinking of starting a freelance

  • A friend or family who saw my post on socials (lol)

Whichever you choose from above, I hope this newsletter will be helpful, especially when it contains insights and first-hand learnings from someone going through it for YEARS.

I remember starting freelancing and had NO IDEA how to do it. Thank god for youth's naivety and curiosity: I decided to just go for it and try!

Five years later, here we are. Freelance writing is a full-time business—not just a gig. I quit my office job in September 2023, when things were going full steam ahead with what used to be a side hustle. It felt like a crime not to even try giving it my full attention.

From the time I was earning $20 per blog article to now where I'm making my office salary sitting at home to write at my own time and pace—while I enjoy nature, read a book, go to doctor's appointments, duck out for random coffee or gym, and spend quality time with friends and family anytime I want—I've learned SO MUCH about this world.

At the same time, I acknowledge I’ve only started with the full-time solopreneur life. There's still so much to learn. So PLEASE, feel free to reply to my emails because I'd love to hear your thoughts too!

What can you expect?

  • Update about what I'm doing as a freelance writer, i.e., sending a pitch to a potential client, signing up a new one, projects I'm working on—all that jazz.

  • Freelance writing tips, which I can already see are longer forms of my LinkedIn posts. I'll elaborate on tips for dealing with clients, how to send messages to potential clients I don't personally know but only found on the internet, etc.

  • Links of articles, podcasts, social content, and other helpful materials I found over the last two weeks.

I'm pumped for this new journey. I look forward to going through it with you and hearing your thoughts.

Thanks again for being here,

Tina
